From the Bates County Health Center

We are beginning to get questions regarding when the Stay at Home Order will expire. To clarify, the County Stay at Home expires at 11:59 p.m. April 24th, BUT we will still be under the State of MO Stay at Home through 11:59 p.m. on May 3, 2020 unless it is extended.
We will be watching Governor Parsons reopening strategies for guidance.
Thank you!

Bates County Health Center Reports First Death of COVID-19
The Bates County Health Center is saddened to report the first death of a Bates County resident due to COVID-19. The Amoret resident was a female in her 60’s and tested positive for COVID-19 on April 9, 2020. Although hospitalized for some time for other underlying health conditions, COVID-19 was a factor in death and is therefore reportable to Bates County. Our thoughts are with her family during this very difficult time.
Everyone is urged to continue to take preventive actions to prevent the spread of all respiratory viruses.
Older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions may be at higher risk for more serious complications from COVID-19. If you think, you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever and symptoms, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call your health care provider for medical advice before showing up.
For more information, visit the DHSS website at www.health.mo.gov/coronavirus or the CDC website at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus. A statewide COVID-19 hotline also operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 877-435-8411.
